Advanced Placement (AP) provides an opportunity for high school students across the country to take a standardized test to earn college credit. Use this route to college credit if you plan to attend a college or university outside of Utah.
1. You do not need to take the course to take the test. Courses are provided to give student insight into curriculum, protocols, and rules of grading. For a list of exams, go to: apstudents.collegeboard.org/course-index-page 2. AP tests will give you a score of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 based on mastery. 3. Each institution of higher learning will award college credit based on course availability and the mastery score. 4. Test costs vary by test and deadlines are usually in the fall, for more information go to : apstudents.collegeboard.org/register-for-ap-exams 5. Test waivers or scholarships are not provided by the school, district, or state. 6. No college credit is awarded for taking the course, but taking the course does look good on your transcripts. 7. Courses are considered rigorous, so plan to spend an hour of homework each night to earn a "good" grade in class. |
